Completed: Sept. 14th: Assemblage Sculpture

Taught by Lavanda Mireles and Rene Froehlich

Thursdays September 14th – October 26th, 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Westerhall. $180 EC

Assemblage is three-dimensional collage, it is a work of art made by grouping found or unrelated objects. During the course we will view, study and seek inspiration from works by contemporary artists who use assemblage and collage as their primary medium. Upon completion, students will understand how to select, combine, and thoughtfully assemble everyday and found objects into works of their own.

Learn to collect, organize, modify, and combine found objects and materials into successful assemblage art. With an emphasis on basic tools and joining methods, learn how to create your own unique sculptural work of art that is well thought out and constructed. SPECIAL NOTE: Students are required to provide their own objects, tools and materials.
