How to create a Mixed Media Assemblage Box

Join us in making mixed media collage and assemblage boxes! Get inspired by surrealist artists and let your creativity run wild. By mixing media, using dynamic color and exploring various mounting techniques, turn your collection of found objects and mixed media art into your very own assemblage box. Alongside fellow students, share and discuss your creative process. Learn to fearlessly create eye-catching artwork that is sure to spark conversation and inspire your future projects to come.
Special Note: Students provide their own materials and found objects.
List of Materials/Supplies:
- ● Sketchbook
- ● Paper items for collage such as magazines, old photos, cards, wrapping paper, books or newspaper
- ● Cardboard and/or found box
- ● Scissors
- ● Glue (white Elmer’s, wood glue, and/or epoxy)
- ● Found objects such as sea shells, sea glass, plastic and metal
- ● Wire, string, and/or sewing thread
- ● Acrylic paint and/or watercolor paint and brushes
