Description: Drawing from live models is a long and important tradition in fine art. The human figure in its complexity can teach artists to really observe their subject and master their tools. This class will consist of exercises to improve observational and technical skills with an emphasis on long poses in order to deeply engage with the process. The models will be clothed and there will be discussion about the body, representation, and other topics concerning depicting the human form.
Goal: Artists will be able to draw the human form with more confidence and skill. Upon completing the course students will have the observational skills to more accurately depict the figure.
