Each Tuesday, April 25 – May 30

6 Week Studio Art Class
2.5 hours
6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Ages: adult (18+)

Taught by: Lavanda Mireles

Course Goal: To apply with confidence the various processes and techniques of Assemblage.

Objective: Assemblage is three-dimensional collage, it is a w ork of art made by grouping found or unrelated objects. During the course we will view, study and seek inspiration from works by contemporary artists who use assemblage and collage as their primary medium. Upon completion, students will understand how to select, combine, and thoughtfully assemble everyday and found objects into works of their own.

Students must bring a sketchbook or notebook and something to write with. They are expected to participate in class discussions and informal art critiques. Students will provide their own found objects, tools and supplies. Individual tools and supplies will vary. Students are advised to wait and purchase any tool or supply until after the final layout of their project has been decided (approximately Week 2).
